Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We subscribe to the statement of faith of our sponsoring church.

Genoa Baptist Church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, divinely preserved Word of God and the supreme and final authority for all faith and life. There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is Lord, encompassing full deity and full humanity. Jesus was born through a miraculous virgin birth. He lived a sinless life marked by miracles. He died a vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross. He was resurrected in the body. He ascended to heaven and His bodily return in power and glory is imminent. Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and those who put their faith in Jesus Christ can be saved. Salvation is the free gift of God brought to the sinner by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through His death on the cross the penalty for man's sin was paid. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict mankind, indwell; guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
